Rutgers–New Brunswick currently has 295 "general purpose classrooms"—which can be requested for course scheduling by all schools, departments, and units—in 42 different buildings across 4 geographic campuses. These include seminar rooms, active learning classrooms, standard classrooms, and lecture halls, all ranging in sizes from 12 seats to 500 seats.
99% of the Rutgers-New Brunswick general-purpose classrooms are equipped with Digital Classroom Systems that include computers, data displays and projectors, and connections for personal portable devices. Additional equipment found in many of these rooms include Blu-ray players, document cameras, microphones, wireless display sharing, and technology for recording and video and audio conferencing.
Rutgers–New Brunswick also has an additional 427 "restricted" classrooms—which are scheduled/controlled by individual schools, departments, and units—in 103 different buildings across 4 geographic campuses. These include seminar and conference rooms, active learning classrooms, standard classrooms, teaching labs, computer classrooms, and lecture halls, all ranging in sizes from 7 seats to 335 seats. These rooms have a range of technology and equipment, depending on the special use of the room.
Newark
Rutgers–Newark has 6 auditoriums, 6 lecture halls, 40 digital classrooms, 6 agile classrooms, 3 distance learning classrooms (one of which is also an instructional computing classroom, and 8 instructional computing classrooms one of which is a distance learning classroom.
All have projectors. Except for the agile classroom, all have Windows all-in-ones with built-in webcam & microphone, blu-ray, annotation capability, technology for recording & conferencing, and connections for personal portable devices. 35 of the rooms have instructorcams in addition to the built-in web cameras.
